Your smile is unmistakable. You don’t have to say a word for the appearance of your teeth and gums to “speak” volumes. Now, this is a great situation for individuals with “perfect” teeth and gums. But, for individuals whose smiles have been marred over time by wear and tear or the effects of conditions such as dental decay, gum disease, and bruxism (teeth grinding), the power that a smile conveys can be a source of great distress.
At Beverly Hills Advanced Specialties of Dentistry in Beverly Hills, California, we specialize in many techniques and procedures designed to “makeover” aspects of your smile. Enhancement does not boil down to a single procedure. Instead, we unlock the beauty of your smile and, in turn, your self-esteem and confidence with an array of dental procedures. Each treatment plan is one of a kind as the individual that our specialists, Drs Frank Vidjak and Fanny Yacaman, are treating. Some patients bring with them more extensive needs, whereas others may require few treatments or less intensive procedures to exceed their goals for cosmetic improvement.
Dr. Vidjak is our in-house prosthodontist. He is well-suited to recommend and plan procedures because prosthodontics is the dental discipline focused on replacing the teeth and interconnected oral structures. In fact, the word is derived from the Greek terms for “replacement” and “tooth.”
Since your smile is made up of more than teeth, his knowledge and experience transcend those procedures designed to rebuild a portion or all of a broken, decayed, or otherwise damaged tooth. Dr. Vidjak also has considerable experience and advanced training in restoring the appearance, structure, and function of everything from the gums that frame and protect your teeth to the supportive bone in the jaws.
He also works in tandem with our other specialist, Dr. Yacaman. She is an endodontist trained in treating teeth that have sustained deep decay. Dr. Yacaman is the last line of defense to preserve severely infected teeth and to avoid the need for extractions. The procedures she specializes in, such as root resorption, are generally classified as “rehabilitative” in nature. They differ from procedures explicitly designed to enhance the smile’s appearance, as there are considerable restorative needs behind these treatments.
However, all treatments start with a consultation. Depending on what we find after examining your mouth and discussing your preferences and goals, Drs. Vidjak and/or Yacaman may recommend:
Our lovely, resilient dental crowns often follow root canal therapy administered by Dr. Yacaman. We encourage you to contact us sooner rather than later to schedule your smile consultation. Underlying conditions do not resolve on their own. As conditions progress, the appearance of your smile and associated discomfort and other symptoms will only become worse without treatment.
