Drs Frank Vidjak and Fanny Yacaman are specialists in saving and preserving teeth, as a prosthodontist and endodontist, respectively. So, Beverly Hills Advanced Specialties of Dentistry patients can trust that their smiles will be restored to their healthy, stunning brilliance. Patients will finally see the smile they have always dreamed of staring back at them when they look in the mirror.
Sometimes, procedures available at our sophisticated and welcoming center in Beverly Hills, California, are primarily or exclusively “cosmetic” in nature; notably, we offer dental bonding (or “direct veneers”) to transform our patients’ smiles and self-confidence positively. No detail is too small when designing, crafting, and placing these durable and appealing composite resin “veneers.”
Bonding is sometimes referred to as veneers because it is the “direct” alternative to porcelain veneers (also known as “indirect” veneers). Both options may be recommended to disguise the same types of imperfections; however, the former alternative is made from dental composite, which is prepared and applied directly to the surface of a natural tooth. The tooth is treated with an advanced bonding agent to ensure the strongest bond between the natural structure and the dental material. Your dentist’s artistry and technical excellence come into play, as the material is skillfully shaped and built up to address your cosmetic concerns. The material is secured to the tooth using a specialized bonding light. Minor refinements are made, and the tooth is polished to reveal its show-stopping beauty.
The latter alternative to bonding, porcelain, or indirect veneers, are made from high-quality dental porcelain. The color of the porcelain and other tooth characteristics are perfectly matched to blend in with the surrounding teeth and to correct the specific imperfections that mar the appearance of your smile. The tooth itself must also be “prepared,” typically by removing a minimal amount of natural enamel. This step is necessary because the veneer will be placed on the tooth. There must be sufficient space to accommodate the width of each veneer. Veneers themselves are fabricated based on information collected about your teeth and models of the prepared teeth. Once the shells have been made to your unique specifications, they will be secured to the front surfaces of the teeth. They are not shaped and bonded directly to each tooth, as is the case with bonding or their direct counterpart.
Both options may be appropriate for patients with:
